Joe is a husband, father, small business owner, and disabled veteran of the U.S. Army who wants to see positive action for Texas' 22nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is ready to lead Texas CD22 citizens from wherever they are now - to the continued successes and prosperity.
Joe is a lifelong resident of TX-22, leaving only for his service in the United States Army from 2003 to 2013. Throughout his life, Joe has been a fighter for democracy. He joined the Army to fight for our country at 17, and he signed up to fight for our country again at 34, this time as a Congressional Candidate.
Joe’s calling to public service began with a ten-year career in the Army. Walz was a Flight Engineer for CH-47 helicopters. He supervised Crew Chiefs and Door Gunners in the accomplishment of all related flight crew duties. Walz earned numerous awards for his service including two Air Medals for serving as a crew member in combat aerial missions which included the insertion and extraction of special operations units. He learned how to persevere; how to direct teams in stressful scenarios and have integrity in all circumstances.
Walz next mission was to use his entrepreneurial skills to create his own commercial helicopter business. He founded National Helicopter Solutions with $300 and a dream and quickly turned the business into a profitable company that employs hard-working Americans. NHS conducts wildlife management, personnel and cargo transport, and aerial surveying.
Joe and his wife of 7 years are both lifelong residents of Texas CD22. They have custody of his two daughters Marilynn and Elizabeth and are proud parents of a one-year-old daughter, Natalia. Together they enjoy watching baseball, smoking meat, and spending time with their family across the Greater Houston area. They are extremely patriotic and are passionate supporters of the military, law enforcement, and first-responders.
